I received an invitation to attend the "Get Down & Give Back Gala", Febuary 7th 2009 at the Atlas Grill & Clubroom in Minneapolis, MN. The event is a call to action with all proceeds benefiting the Will Steger Foundation. You can learn more about the event and buy tickets at http://www.getdowngiveback.org/ . Although I can't attend, the invitation reminded me to look at Steger's website and see what was new. If you haven't heard of Will Stegar, he is known for his many polar expeditions and efforts to raise awareness of the growing environmental challenges. He has been tracking changes in the Antarctic for many years and most recently in 2007 began to share his experiences with teachers, students and families through the website http://www.globalwarming101.com./ Possibly more important than the times he has appeared before Congress, internationally or the many awards he has received, is the awareness and inspiration he has brought to the younger generations.
